Amazon Seller Calendar 2027: The Dated Changes From November 2026 to August 2027
Amazon seller calendar 2027: the dated changes from November 2026 to August 2027, from insurance and bundles to SP-API removals, with the source for each date.

By Bernardo Campelo, Forbes Business Council E-Commerce Leader, Amazon SPN Certified provider, Amazon SP-API authorized partner, and Founder of PrepVia.
Amazon and the federal agencies that touch an import do not publish one calendar. The dates sit in Seller Forums announcements, Seller Central help pages, the Selling Partner API deprecation table and the Federal Register, each written for a different reader. A missed date shows up later as a rejected insurance policy, a deactivated bundle or a failed API call.
This calendar puts the dated changes from November 2026 to August 2027 in one place, with the source beside each row so your team can check it before acting.
"No leader can absorb the volume of tech updates released daily. Trying to keep up with everything is a losing strategy. The real advantage comes from selective focus."
Bernardo Campelo, in a Forbes Business Council expert panel, March 12, 2026
A calendar is that selective focus applied to rules: a short list of dates, each with an owner, instead of every announcement.
The 60-second version
The dated changes for Amazon sellers between November 2026 and August 2027 cluster in November, in January and in three SP-API removals. November 2 brings Amazon's new insurance rules, November 9 is the last day of 178 Section 301 exclusions on Chinese goods, and November 11 removes two settlement report types from the SP-API. January carries the new bundle policy on January 11, the end of holiday peak fulfillment fees on January 14 and the end of the extended returns window on January 31. Six Orders API v0 operations are removed on March 27, 2027 and three Finances API v0 operations on August 27, 2027, and the statutory repeal of the $800 de minimis exemption for commercial shipments takes effect on July 1, 2027. Amazon's 2027 fee changes had not been announced as of October 26, 2026.
Every row below was checked against its linked source on October 26, 2026. Tariff and trade dates can move with a single Federal Register notice, so check the source on the day you act.

November 2026: Insurance, China and the Last Holiday Deadlines
November 2, insurance. From this date, a seller with products in Amazon's enhanced-safety categories must carry a commercial liability policy of at least $1 million per occurrence and in the aggregate whatever its sales, for new and existing listings, and Amazon rejects newly submitted policies from Mainland China sellers that were not obtained through the Amazon Insurance Accelerator. A compliant third-party policy submitted before November 2 can be used until it expires. Two product policies started earlier. Amazon's policy for lithium battery powered smart home devices and consumer electronics lists a certificate of insurance through Business Insurance verification among its requirements, and Amazon's September 30, 2026 announcement says those requirements apply from that date, with Account Health notifications rolling out through November 16, 2026. A second announcement the same day says the requirements for gas-fueled outdoor heating products, including the certificate, have been live since September 23, 2026. Our guide to Amazon's November 2 insurance rule walks through the policy criteria entity by entity.
November 9, China. Two import-related clocks run out that night. The 178 Section 301 exclusions on Chinese goods expire at 11:59 p.m. Eastern (the notice says "eastern daylight time," although daylight saving time ends on November 1), and as of October 26 USTR had published no further extension. On October 7, 2026, USTR confirmed that the underlying Section 301 actions on China remain in effect during their second four-year review. The one-year suspension of the Section 301 maritime actions is also set to end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, but in a notice published October 26, USTR proposed extending it two more months, through January 9, 2027, with comments open since October 23 and due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on October 30. The maritime action's duties cover Chinese ship-to-shore cranes and certain cargo handling equipment, and its fees fall on ocean carriers and vessel operators. When USTR first suspended the action, in November 2025, most of the roughly 70 comments it received supported the suspension, and many said it would lower shipping costs. Until a final notice appears, November 9 is the date in force. Our breakdown of the 2026 tariff layers shows where the China exclusions sit in landed cost.
A third federal date falls on November 9 as well: the end of a one-year stay of a Commerce Department export-control rule, the BIS Affiliates Rule. It governs exports, not import duties, so it does not change what an Amazon importer pays.
November 11, settlement reports. Amazon's SP-API deprecation table lists the removal of two report types, GET_V2_SETTLEMENT_REPORT_DATA_FLAT_FILE and GET_V2_SETTLEMENT_REPORT_DATA_XML, deprecated since March 17, 2025. Amazon's settlement report documentation names the replacement for both: GET_V2_SETTLEMENT_REPORT_DATA_FLAT_FILE_V2. If your accountant or reconciliation software still pulls either old report, ask the vendor now whether it has moved to GET_V2_SETTLEMENT_REPORT_DATA_FLAT_FILE_V2, which Amazon calls the Flat File V2 Settlement Report.
November 13, holiday deals. Amazon extended the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal submission window, which had been set to close on October 20, to November 13.
About November 30, importer of record rules. Executive Order 14411, signed June 3, 2026, directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to act within 180 days on importer of record eligibility, including a requirement that every importer of record keep good standing with CBP. The date is our count from the signing date, and it is a deadline for the government. On October 19, Amazon told sellers that a new rule for foreign importers of record is under government review, that nothing changes today, and that sellers should review their customs arrangements now. As of October 26, 2026, no final importer of record rule had appeared in the Federal Register.

December 2026: Comment Windows and Year-End Offers
Two CBP comment windows close in December. The advance notice on heightened import disclosures, which asks about new requirements on the parties involved in an import, takes comments until December 1. The proposed low-value shipments rule, which would change filing for informal entries of $2,500 or less and create a new electronic informal entry type for mail, takes comments until December 7. A comment window is the formal point where an importer can put its view on the record before a rule is final.
Three Amazon offers end on December 31. Amazon says Business Deals may get extra visibility through email and push campaigns during major shopping events at no additional cost until that date, a possibility rather than a guarantee. Shipments received at Global Warehousing and Distribution facilities through December 31 qualify for 30 days of free storage. And primary account holders who sign up before December 31 get a free year of Amazon Quick Plus for themselves and two delegated users. One Amazon post says "by December 31" and a later one says "before December 31," so sign up by December 30.
January 2027: Eight Dates in One Month
January 1, Nicaragua and wood products. The Section 301 duty on goods of Nicaragua that do not originate under CAFTA-DR goes from 0% to 10% for goods entered from 12:01 a.m. Eastern, and the same notice sets 15% from January 1, 2028. The same day, under Proclamation 11000, the Section 232 duty on certain upholstered wooden products rises from 25% to 30%, and on kitchen cabinets and vanities from 25% to 50%, except for countries with which the United States reaches an agreement on wood products.
January 8, CPSC. CPSC's certificate eFiling requirements, which have applied to most regulated imports since July 8, 2026, start to apply to regulated products entered from a foreign trade zone. After a 2025 correction in the Federal Register, the FTZ date is written as the date the rule becomes applicable.
January 11, bundles. This January date reaches the warehouse floor. From January 11, most bundles listed as a single ASIN must be packaged by the original manufacturer or brand. Amazon's announcement keeps three exceptions:
- reconfigured or repackaged products, if the seller has a letter of authorization from the brand owner or manufacturer to repackage them with the other brands in the bundle;
- bundles in gifting browse nodes and camera product types;
- Virtual Bundles created by brand owners and authorized resellers with Amazon's tool.
Amazon's announcement says noncompliant bundles are deactivated after January 11 and become listing violations in Account Health. In the same thread, an Amazon moderator added on October 1, 2026 that for products outside consumables, the ones the rule newly covers, a violation first shows as "Listing at risk of removal" in Account Health, with a 30-day grace period after the notification to upload a letter of authorization without listing downtime. That grace period comes from a forum reply, not from the policy page, so keep January 11 as the date to have the letter in hand.
Amazon's bundling policy also says multipacks of identical products are not bundles, so a six-pack of one item is outside this rule. It is not outside Amazon's ASIN creation policy, which already says sellers should not list non-standard multipacks that the brand owner or manufacturer did not create. If a prep center assembles your bundles, ours included, the letter of authorization is the document to collect before January 11, and inventory you cannot authorize is better sold or removed before the date than left to be deactivated. Our note on kitting versus bundling on Amazon covers the terms.
January 14, peak fees. The 2026 holiday peak fulfillment fees, in place since October 15, 2026, end. Amazon's July 7 announcement set them at an average of $0.32 per unit above non-peak rates, with the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on top, for FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime. Amazon had not published the rates that apply from January 15 as of October 26.
January 15, returns and aged inventory. Apple-brand products bought from November 1 to December 31, 2026 can be returned until January 15. The 15th is also the monthly snapshot for the aged inventory surcharge on units stored 181 days or longer. That is not a new rule. Age is counted first in, first out. For most items the surcharge starts at 181 days, so stock received for the holidays in September and October 2026 reaches it between March and April 2027 and first shows up in the March, April or May snapshot if it is still unsold. For clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and watches it starts at 271 days, three months later.
January 20, mail. CBP moved the compliance date for formal entry of certain goods arriving by international mail, those subject to partner agency requirements, to Chapter 98 or 99 duties, or claiming duty-free treatment under Chapter 98 or a free trade agreement, from October 22, 2026 to January 20, 2027. From that date, those shipments need a formal entry or, for eligible mail shipments of $2,500 or less, an entry under CBP's voluntary Entry Type 13 test.
January 31, returns. Items bought from November 1 to December 31, 2026 can be returned until January 31, 2027. Amazon says the window applies automatically to FBA and seller-fulfilled orders on Amazon.com and will apply every year. If you fulfill your own orders, plan returns capacity for February, when the returns from that window come back; FBA returns go to Amazon's network. Chinese New Year falls on February 6, 2027, in the same weeks; our Chinese New Year 2027 inventory plan covers the factory side.
March to August 2027: API Removals, Programs and Two Tariff Clocks
March 27 and August 27, the SP-API. Amazon removes six Orders API v0 operations (getOrders, getOrder, getOrderBuyerInfo, getOrderAddress, getOrderItems and getOrderItemsBuyerInfo) on March 27, 2027, and three Finances API v0 operations (listFinancialEvents, listFinancialEventsByGroupId and listFinancialEventsByOrderId) on August 27, 2027. The table does not list the other v0 operations, such as confirmShipment and listFinancialEventGroups. In a large account, ask every vendor whose tool reads your orders or payouts, from the repricer to the reconciliation software, whether it has migrated, and ask before the removal date.
March 31, New Selection Program. Amazon's New Selection Program (2026) page says sellers moved over from the previous program have access through March 31, 2027 as an introductory offer, and that sellers who do not confirm enrollment by then stop receiving benefits on new ASINs listed after that date, while ASINs that already qualified keep theirs. One caution: an older Amazon page and a June announcement still give October 31, 2026 for the introductory period. The program page is the more specific source. If you were moved over from the previous program, confirming enrollment now covers both dates.
June 23, semiconductors. USTR's semiconductor action has carried a 0% tariff since December 23, 2025. On June 23, 2027, the rate under heading 9903.91.05, which already carries the 50% Section 301 duty on Chinese semiconductors, increases by an amount USTR must announce at least 30 days earlier.
July 1, de minimis. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Public Law 119-21, repeals the de minimis exemption for commercial shipments effective July 1, 2027. Until then, duty-free de minimis treatment stays suspended for all countries under Executive Order 14324, as revised by Executive Order 14388, and under two CBP interim final rules that have suspended it for every mode, mail included, since June 24, 2026; the new postal informal entry process followed on July 24, 2026. For most sellers, July 1 changes the legal basis more than the day-to-day reality. Our guide to consolidating and prepping in the U.S. without de minimis covers the operating side.
What Is Not on the Calendar Yet
Some dates a large account will want are not published, and a calendar should say so rather than guess.
- Amazon's 2027 fee changes. Not announced as of October 26, 2026. Amazon announced its 2026 changes on October 15, 2025, effective January 15, 2026, so the 2027 announcement is already later than last year's. Our list of the 2026 fee changes is the baseline to compare against when it lands.
- The end of Amazon's Multi-Channel Fulfillment discount for TikTok Shop orders. The 35% discount on Standard and Expedited rates for TikTok Shop orders started on July 16, 2026. Amazon's promotion page says it plans to run it for at least 12 months and may change or end it at any time; it has published no end date.
- Importer of record rules under Executive Order 14411. The order sets deadlines for the government, and no final rule had been published as of October 26.
How to Run This Calendar Inside a Large Account
Give each row an owner. The rows fall into four lanes:
- Compliance and risk: insurance, CPSC eFiling, bundles and the importer of record rules.
- Trade and customs: the China clocks, Nicaragua, wood products, semiconductors, de minimis, the January 20 postal entry date and the CBP comment windows, with your licensed customs broker.
- Finance and systems: the settlement reports, the Orders and Finances API removals and the Amazon Quick Plus offer, with every vendor that reads your Amazon data.
- Operations: deals, Business Deals, GWD storage, the New Selection Program, peak fees, returns, aged inventory and the inbound plan around them.
"Amazon announced the January 11 bundle rule on September 10, four months ahead. Four months is enough only if someone owns the date."
Bernardo Campelo, Founder of PrepVia
Three dates on this page changed or were put in question in the week we wrote it: CBP moved the postal date and Amazon extended the deal deadline on October 22, and USTR proposed a new maritime date, open for comment since October 23.

Final Take
Most dates on this page were announced months ahead: the insurance rule on September 3, the bundle rule on September 10 and the SP-API deprecations in 2025 and early 2026. A calendar puts each one in front of someone.
Give each row on this page an owner, put January 11 in front of whoever signs off on bundles, and put the three SP-API removal dates, November 11, March 27 and August 27, in front of every software vendor that touches your Amazon data. Then check each source again before its date.
