After customs release, your container comes to the PrepVia warehouse at 8507 NW 72nd St, Miami. It is unloaded and counted against the packing list and the BOL, then palletized by SKU, stored, prepped for Amazon FBA in the 24-36h prep window, or sent on to Amazon or your distribution point. In the PrepVia app you see what came out of the container, product by product, and a warehouse receipt in PDF once the shipment closes.

How container receiving works

From the port to Amazon FBA, with the PrepVia app at every step

Step 1

Register the container before it ships

In Send to PrepVia, add the products from the invoice or the packing list, by spreadsheet or with AI document reading, and send your supplier or forwarder the link to fill in the carrier, the tracking and the packing list.

Step 2

Unloaded and counted at the Miami dock

After customs release, the container is delivered to the dock, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM ET. Floor-loaded cargo is unloaded by hand and sorted, and palletized cargo comes off by forklift. The inbound is counted against the packing list and the BOL, and the count shows per product in the app. See Receiving and inspection.

Step 3

Check what arrived in the app

In Shipments to PrepVia, the app shows expected against received units for each product, and a warehouse receipt in PDF once the shipment closes. See Shipment tracking.

Stored, prepped or sent on

You choose what happens next, from the list below. Shipments to Amazon FBA go through Send to Amazon, with the plan built through PrepVia's own Amazon SP-API integration.

Questions about container unloading

Can PrepVia receive a container straight from the port?

Yes. After customs release, the container is delivered to the PrepVia dock in Miami, where it is unloaded and counted against the packing list and the BOL. Dock receiving runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM ET.

Does PrepVia clear customs?

Customs clearance stays with your customs broker or freight forwarder. The container comes to PrepVia after customs release.

Can you unload floor-loaded containers?

Yes. Loose cargo inside a 20', 40' or 40' high-cube container is unloaded by hand and sorted, and palletized cargo comes off by forklift. Floor-loaded containers are quoted by carton count.

How do I see what came out of the container?

In the PrepVia app. In Shipments to PrepVia, each product shows what was expected, what was received and the difference, and you download the warehouse receipt in PDF when the shipment closes.

What happens to the cargo after unloading?

You choose: pallets built by SKU, storage billed daily on the space used, cross-docking without storage, FBA prep and a shipment to Amazon, cases shipped to Amazon AWD, or pallets forwarded to your distribution point.
