FBA labeling is more than slapping a barcode on a product. Amazon requires:

• FNSKU barcodes on every unit that needs one: between 1 x 2 inches and 2 x 3 inches, black ink on white, non-reflective labels with removable adhesive, readable for 24 months. Amazon's label tools are optimized for thermal printers, laser printers are also accepted, inkjet is not, and the printer has to be 300 dpi or greater.
• All existing barcodes covered with opaque material so only the FNSKU is scannable.
• Labels placed on flat surfaces, with 0.25 inch between the edge of the label and the edge of the packaging, never on a curve or corner.
• Suffocation warning labels on every poly bag with an opening of 5 inches or larger measured flat, using Amazon's exact warning text at the minimum print size for the bag.
• Sold as Set labels on bundled products.
• Expiration dates on expiration-dated products: MM-DD-YYYY or MM-YYYY, in 36-point or larger font on the outer box, on every individual unit, and on the outside of any bag or wrap.

Getting any of this wrong triggers unplanned prep and prep defect fees, charged per unit when Amazon has to fix or refuse the item. Separately, a shipment that is misrouted, deleted or abandoned carries an inbound defect fee of $0.32 to $5.72 per unit. At scale, that is thousands of dollars in avoidable fees.
