What the service covers

    Since March 31, 2026, only a brand representative in Brand Registry, with a qualifying product, can ship on the manufacturer barcode. Resellers put an Amazon barcode on each unit.

  • Warnings stay visible

    Amazon's label rules say to cover every other visible barcode, except serial number and Transparency codes, and not to cover labels that may carry warning, safety or compliance information.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Name the label on the request

    In the notes of the Send to Amazon request, or the special preparation comments of an order, say which units get a UPC or your own label.

  2. Step 2

    One pass at the label station

    The team applies the UPC or your label next to the FNSKU when a unit needs both, and covers the other barcodes Amazon's rules say to cover.

  3. Step 3

    Check each item on the request

    Each item on the Send to Amazon request lists its FNSKU, label and prep.

Questions about UPC and custom labels

Can PrepVia apply my own branded labels?

Yes. PrepVia applies Universal Product Code barcodes or your own branded labels, next to the FNSKU when a unit needs both.

Does Amazon accept a manufacturer barcode instead of an FNSKU?

Only from a brand representative in Brand Registry, with a qualifying product. Since March 31, 2026, resellers use Amazon barcodes even when the product has a manufacturer barcode.

Can a label go over the warnings on my product?

No. Amazon's label rules say not to cover stickers or labels already on the product that may carry warning, safety or compliance information.
